Anniversary dates for subscriptions
|
You can now choose whether a subscription should be renewed at the beginning of the calendar period or on its anniversary date.
For example, if you assign a monthly plan to a customer on August 25th and select the 'anniversary date' option, Lago will automatically bill the customer every 25th of the month.
This option is available through both the user interface and the API.

Can't work out your pricing?
|
Monthly and yearly plans, free trial, tiered pricing, prepaid credits... It can be hard to find the optimal pricing model for a new business.
Our team analyzes dozens of subscription-based, usage-based and hybrid models each week.
If you need help, you can schedule a free workshop with our experts.

Why billing is not just 'Build' or 'Buy'
|
'Should I pay for a billing system or should I build it myself?'
This is a recurring question and for a long time, only these two options were available.
However, open source has disrupted this dichotomy and the decision-making process has changed.

Why we decided to pivot earlier this year
|
When we started Lago, our first idea was to build a no-code reverse ETL tool (which we did).
One year later, we moved away from that space to create an open-source billing API for product-led SaaS.
This series of articles traces our journey.
